Andersen donates Raymond Forklift Truck to Greater Detroit Goodwill

Wixom-based fleet management and material handling company provides equipment to support Goodwill’s mission in and around metro Detroit

WIXOM, Mich., Sept. 13, 2013 – Andersen Material Handling today announced its donation of a Raymond Stand-up https://www.andersenmaterialhandling.com/forklifts/raymond/counterbalanced-trucks/Counterbalanced fork lift truck to Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit. The fork lift, valued at more than $12,000, was delivered today to Goodwill representatives at the new Commerce Township, Mich. retail store. The lift truck will be used to move large donations like kitchen appliances, and to load and unload trucks with pallets of clothing and other items.

“The fork lift truck is a workhorse – the most fundamental piece of equipment used to handle materials and move heavy loads – so much so that it’s often used past the point of repair,” said David Streefkerk, Vice President Renewed and Rental, Andersen Material Handling. “With this lift truck, Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit can now more reliably, efficiently and safely move items in their stores and throughout the city.”

Andersen Material Handling, https://www.andersenmaterialhandling.com/contact-locations headquartered in Wixom, Mich., strongly believes in giving back to its local communities. The company reached out to Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit in July and learned about their daily operations and material handling needs. The new fork lift truck will be put to immediate use, with a capacity to lift and move up to 3,500 pounds.

“We are so thankful to Andersen Material Handling for supporting our mission and equipping us with this vehicle,” said of Jeff Ukrainec, Director of Donated Goods, Goodwill Industries of Detroit. “Goodwill moves thousands of pounds of donations across the city and this fork lift will help ensure we are well-equipped to continue to serve the people of Detroit for many more years to come.”
